Welcome to my Online Journal! My name is Orbie Pullen and I'm a photographer from Santa Cruz, California. As a photographer I mostly do weddings but I do dip into other aspects of photography. I have created this blog to let people know what’s going on in my life and just to share things that I think are interesting. I also created this blog because I wanted to let my clients see sneak peeks of there photographs before they get them. I usually post pics of a wedding the day after so check back to see those sneak peeks of what I do. I also created this blog to show potential clients a little bit of who I am as a person and some samples of my work. So book mark this site now and e-mail a link of this blog to everyone you know. Santana Row and Downtown San Jose Engagement Session with Kisa & Jimmy

Last Week I got to photograph Kisa and Jimmy's Engagement Session in San Jose. We First started at Santana Row then got kicked out and ended up in Downtown San Jose. Kisa and Jimmy are super fun and cool couple so they wanted something that fit there style so that's why we choose the urban theme. I love Urban style engagement sessions the best because usually urban places have a lot of textures, colors and great nooks and crannies that I love to seek out. We had lots of fun and got some great shots, check out what we captured...

Light House Field and Natural Bridges Engagement Session with Erica and Kevin

A few weeks ago I got to photograph Erica and Kevin's Engagement Session at Lighthouse Field and Natural Bridges in Santa Cruz, Ca. It was a great day and the weather was perfect. Erica and Kevin are such a great couple and I can't wait to photograph their wedding later this year. Here are some great shots we captured through out the day in Santa Cruz....

Santa Cruz Engagement Session at Wilder Ranch with Taryn & Michael

A few weeks ago I got photograph Taryn and Michael's Engagement session in Santa Cruz at Wilder Ranch. Taryn is also a photographer and also went to San Jose State. It's always an honor when another photographer chooses you to be the photographer at their wedding.

We had a fun time except for the end when we found that both of our windows were broken in our cars. The crooks didn't even steal anything just broke our windows. They must have thought we were stupid enough to leave something behind hidden under the seats. It's just a bummer when you come back to your car to find your window broken. Thank god we left nothing valuable on the seats or in the car. Anyways enough with the down side of having your car broken into when the images that I captured came out so great:)

Vespa Love

I thinking of purchasing a Vespa Scooter to cruz around town on since gas is getting so expensive. Earlier this week me and my friend Peter Thomsen, his wife Jana and Rebecca went to the Vespa store in Santa Cruz to test drive some new Vepsa's. Peter already has one and he loves it. These things are fast, they are 250cc and have top speeds around 80! You can even drive them on freeways.

Let me know in the comments what you think about getting a Vespa, do you think it would fit my brand?

Melinda and Dave's Wedding at Nestldown in the Santa Cruz Mountians

The Weekend before last I got to photograph Dave and Melinda's Wedding at the Beautiful location Nestldown. This location is a true gem located in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It even has a train that goes around the whole property. Brooke the Coordinator and her crew at Nestldown did a great job keeping everything moving smoothly. It was probably the hottest day of the year so far but it was perfect because Nestldown has so much shade the the temperature was perfect. Capitola, Ca. Engagement Session with Matt & Jenny

A few weeks ago  I got to photograph Jenny and Matt's Engagement Session down in the village in Capitola and on the Beach. Matt and Jenny are a great couple and I cant wait till I get to photograph their wedding in July. Here are a few images we captured through out the day...

Couture Celebrations Studio Opening Party

Last Wednesday Night I had the pleasure of being invited to Couture Celebrations Studio opening party. Me and Heidi worked a wedding a few years ago and have been good friends ever since. She is defiantly one of my favorite coordinators to work with and I highly recommend her to any one that is in need for a coordinator at their event or wedding. I saw some other great friends and met some new ones.

The infamous Brook Todd, Me and Rebecca. Brook and his wife Alisha are opening a new studio a few doors down for Heidi.

Me and Mark Stagi. It seems that me and Mark went on the same route to our business. We went to the same exact schools in the same order but he was about 2-3 years before me. I never ran into him through the whole process till now. Kinda weird but it shows how small this world really is.

San Jose State University Speaking Engagement

Earlier this week I had the honor of being invited to speak at San Jose State University in one of my old classes that I attended back when I was a Student. My Teacher Sandi Frank  who is a great commercial and fine art photographer teaches a Business Practices class for photography there at SJSU. She wanted me to talk about my photography business and how it was starting a business after graduating college. When I was a student back then I would have loved some one to come in and talk about there Wedding Photography business and what to do after college. So it was great for me to share my expertise about Wedding Photography and give back to where I learned a lot as a student. It was a great experience and I love coming back every year and sharing with people about what I Love to do.

I forgot to mention that Rebecca also was there with me sharing what she has learn also. Here is a photo of Me, Sandi, Rebecca and some of the students in the class....

Trisha & Eric's Wedding at the Sainte Claire Hotel in San Jose, CA

A couple of weeks I got to photograph Trisha and Eric's Wedding at the Sainte Claire Hotel in San Jose, Ca. It was just one of those events that everything was special. I got to give it up to all the great team of vendors that I worked with on the wedding day. Hilary the coordinator at the Sainte Claire did a great job of keeping everything in order and running smoothly. What a great event, check out some of the shots I got though out the day....
